In 04/29/2019, a conference with international participation on a theme “Hospital Acquired Infections and Antimicrobial Resistance” was held at the International Ala-Too University.

  The conference was organized by the International Ala-Too University and the Department of Disease Prevention and State Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance of the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic.

  There were 198 participants of the Conference. Among them: 123 are students and teachers Faculty of Medicine of the Ala-Too International University: 75 are microbiologist from Italy Bianca Paglietti, heads of departments, teachers of the Kyrgyz State Medical Academy named after I.Akhunbaev and the International Higher School of Medicine, medical practitioners of the Republican Clinical Infectious Diseases Hospital, the National Center of Surgery, the Research Institute of Heart Surgery and Organ Transplantology, the Research Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedics and  the National Center for Phthisiology,  participated in the Conference.

  The conference addressed topical issues of infectious diseases, including healthcare-associated infections (hereinafter referred to as HAIs), rational antimicrobial therapy, problems of laboratory diagnostics, surveillance and control of antibiotic resistance.

  The modern methods and the possibilities of early diagnosis of bloodstream infections and the detection of bacterial resistance to antimicrobials was brought to attention of participants of the conference.  

  The participants of the conference provided materials based on the results of laboratory studies on the diagnosis of HAIs, student work on the study of the immune status, carriage of staphylococcus aureus among students, and control of the activity of disinfectants. All the participants note that the HAIs, the spread of resistance is a global problem encompassing all aspects of life, and it takes teamwork and a national strategy.

The most relevant materials will be published in the magazine "Alatoo Academic Studies".
